My idea of a good time . . . turning the compost, counting the worms, and generally being pleased with the progress of life amid decay. My youngest daughter painted the picture above, which suggests that Chagall may have been inspired by an 8-year old! A few interesting details from my life: I've stood waist deep in salmon; I crawled across a field in Fort Knox while live rounds and tracers blazed over our heads; and moments later realized I was a pacifist; walked across England and completed the Camino de Santiago in 1999; and my kids think I'm the funniest person on earth (so far); on the side, I am a theologian, writer, teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA), and, not least, I make a decent Indian curry.
